dropping in a halfpipe or quarterpipe or anything else shaped like those things
FIRST OFF: the main thing about learning this and alot of other tricks is actually trying it. if you dont have confidence when you try to drop in, you wont ever land it.
POSITIONING/MOVEMENT:
(1) put your back truck over the edge of the coping, as if your board was in a tailslide position.
(2) keep your back foot on the tail to keep it from rolling down, and when your ready to go down, put your front foot on top of the screws.
(3)(this is very important) lean forward and stomp your front foot down as hard as you can at the same time.
(4) when your going down, don't lean backwards.
(5) when you start to get to the flat bottom, stop leaning forward.
(6) be ready to go up the other side, and either kickturn, or go up the other side.
(7) tell all your friends of how awesome i am and to visit my website and sign my guestbook (a VERY essential part).

varial flip
POSITIONING: front foot in a kickflip position but a little farther back, back foot in a shuvit position.

MOVEMENT:
1.start the varial flip by doing the shuvit part.
2.as soon as your board starts turning, shove your front foot IN FRONT of you (give a good flick too, to help the flip).
3. watch your board flip.
4. when you see the grip again, try to catch it, even if it's not at a complete 180.
5. stop it down nice and hard for bonus points

more:
if you dont get enough flip or enough spin, expirement around adding more emphises on the flip or the spin until you get it right.

kickflip

POSITIONING

back foot in ollie position, but put just the ball of your front foot on with an angle to the front

MOVEMENT

1.start it like an ollie
2.when you start sliding your foot up, flick your foot out where the front kicktail starts coming up (right in front of the trucks)
3. keep your weight over the board, and dont throw your front leg to get the flip, its all with flicking your foot. .
4.put your feet down when you see the grip tape.
5. keep centered and roll away

TIPS
1. it might be easier to stick your wheels in a sidewalk crack so you dont wiggle around.
2. it also might help if you put your front foot a little bit behind the trucks so when you flip it it wont get in the way
